To say that I was disappointed with this album would be an understatement. The concept is excellent - how God sees the family - and most of the songs are well thought out and put together. But unfortunately the whole thing comes across as slush! Average families aren't really like the one portrayed here are they? Well mine certainly isn't. It's the dialogues that most consistently take the enamel off the teeth, taking these out would have improved the album immeasurably. The musical playing is good in slick MOR style and some of the lyrics are thought provoking. I liked "Elohim, El-shaddai", and also liked the thoughts portrayed in "A Mother's Love" which will no doubt strike a chord with most mums. But the mawkish sentimentality prevalent elsewhere makes this album almost unlistenable.

Oh, my goodness. I too love this song. I only heard it one time around two in the morning on some obscure radio station 20 years ago. It took me to my knees and I wept because the words were and are so true. Our choir director found it in a very old hymnal and printed out the music and words for me. The words and music were wriiten by Ron Hall in 1975/76 and published by Word Music, Inc. How can I obtain Evie's record album with it on it?

I too have been looking for "Just because I asked". I am thrilled to at least have someone remember that many words and would love to be able to find the song published (recorded somewhere). I know Evie did it at one time. Thanks

I loved Evie as a christian artist and as a christian. Her light of Christ was seen and heard through her music. I'm looking for the song "Just because I asked". Now that might not be the title, but the lyrics, like this "In this quiet hour overcome with emotions and for what HE has done for me just because I asked, How can I quite tell you what I feel for my Jesus, and for what HE has done for me just because I asked... I can't help singing I feel I'm bursting I can't keep it to myself.... Well could I please find out where I could purchase this Tape or CD. I love her music Thanks so much!
