A new album from this group is always welcome. It opens with a reprise of the gospel evergreen "When The Saints Go Marching In" before a new song to me "When Jesus Breaks The Morning" caught my ear. But then we have their version of the very moving "Scars In The Hands Of Jesus" written by the late Marijohn Wilkin and a fast paced version of the wonderful "Noah Found Grace In The Eyes Of The Lord". After all this we get to the track that blew me away: "Two Coats", a very clever Christian adaptation of an old American civil war song, where the two coats originally represented Union blue and Confederate grey. With a driving five- string banjo rhythm and a strong fiddle break it is easily the most country recording this fine group have ever made. The lead vocal is handled by new bass singer Paul Harkey. The title track is a fine new song and the final number "Sometimes I Wonder" is contemplative and thought provoking. To be honest this is probably not the best album Ernie has recorded, but there is enough good stuff on it to make it a worthwhile buy.
