Slimmed down from a quartet to a trio, the exit of Carl J Stewart hasn't really affected the Houston-based harmonizers commitment to a classic old school quartet sound. They are experts in letting the band hit a groove before they let loose and vamp away and the results are pleasing. Resplendent in their white suits on the album cover, Endurance have once more employed the writing and production skills of Prathan "Spanky" Williams who has penned the majority of the songs here. Perhaps for these gentlemen of a certain age, their traditional approach spills over into a frustration at modern church and gospel music but they put that right on the song "We Don't Have Church" where they point out how things have changed. "Through It All" is a soulful ballad of security whilst "He'll Do Just What He Said" is another one where the group hit a groove and celebrate the fruits of their faith. If you are a fan of traditional gospel music, these veterans are definitely worth checking out.
