Brandon Ebel has fast become the man dealing in top quality hardcore music. Since the creation of Solid State, Brandon has created the opportunity for hardcore bands to be heard by a much wider audience other than purely a ‘Christian’ subculture. Embodyment is amongst the first Christian hardcore bands to be given mainstream distribution within the UK via PHD. Embodyment play ‘in your face’ layered power chords, incorporating progressive dynamics into their hardcore sound. Musically tight, ‘Embrace The Eternal’ maintains a high level of musicianship throughout; where many pieces herein are made up of complex movements, deftly delivered by the band. Stand out tracks have to be “Religious Infamy”, where Bruce Fitzhugh – courtesy of Living Sacrifice – steps in on vocal duty; and “Golgotha”, a powerfully delivered song concerning Christ’s crucifixion. Kris’ vocals are good but not particularly engaging. Overall, Embodyment’s debut is a sound example of superb art that is both deftly produced and executed. Take time out, “Embrace The Eternal”.
