Elizabeth is a singer/songwriter from Nova Scotia, Canada and this collection of soft ballads was written at a time of great trial for the singer. Saying that God is sovereign is one thing but try believing it when your baby just died. The first track on this album "Angel Of My Heart", together with a whole page in the sleeve notes is dedicated to the memory of her departed granddaughter, Gracie. The song conveys the anguish and pain of the family in dealing with the consequences of this tragedy culminating in an angelic visitation to Gracie's sister and father. Remarkably the story ends with Gracie's father and grandfather being baptised. The rest of the album is a collection of clearly sung ballads many of which tell of Christ's Church, described as a "vessel of hope and comfort". Musically, this is in an easy listening style that grandmothers would be comfortable with, similar in style to Jane McDonald singing on her cruise ship. Elizabeth previously toured with The Shepherd Family in the 1990s playing guitar in a country/bluegrass style, but in this, her second solo album, such an orientation is hardly discernable. Elizabeth won two Canadian Christian music awards in 2008 including the People's Choice Artist Of The Year.
