Over the years, Arhoolie Records have done a great job of releasing old time gospel recordings from both well known and obscure American grassroots talent. This 1995 release slipped the attention of Cross Rhythms until this moment. From the heartland of rural Mississippi, Elder Roma Wilson is one of the great harmonica players with a talent which can easily match someone like Sonny Boy Williamson. Dedicating his talents to gospel material, this release includes sides recorded in the late '40s and new material from the '90s. What you get is raw talent and ministry as Wilson blows up a storm, preaches, sings and shares all integrating some of the most astonishing harmonica playing you will ever hear.
