Eikon is the brainchild of London-based duo Dave Hendra and Dave Pilcher and this is their third EP release. Brought together by a shared passion for electronic music and worshipping God they have been on a journey to unlock alternative ways of worshipping and connecting with God through their music. The benefit of putting out an EP is that you can pick out the best tracks and don't end up padding out the record with filler. This record definitely shows that with every track standing on its own and no real weak moments. There is an uplifting feeling through every track provided by the atmospheric synths, the life affirming lyrics and the soulful voice of Hendra. There is a gospel feel to "Glory" which starts with a layered vocal proclaiming "Glory, Glory to Your name" gradually building to a crescendo. "Self-Giver" incorporates harmonic guitars providing an extra depth over the layers of synths giving a very warm sound and was picked up by Boeing to be used in a TV advert. Listening to this record leaves you feeling relaxed, refreshed and uplifted but also leaves you slightly disappointed that it doesn't go on for longer.
