When the guitars made their first assault on my eardrums, I thought East West going to serve me up a well put together nu metal offering but 'The Light In Guinevere's Garden' goes way beyond my initial expectations. The quartet refuses to be fenced in by the boundaries of their expected genre. They possess the rare ability to create music that stirs the emotions with some of the fiercest, heaviest songs I have heard, hung in the same musical gallery as well crafted melodic rock, vaguely reminiscent in places of U2. This album is musically very clever, the use of a wide range of tones and melodies to create areas of light and dark and carefully thought out dynamics make it very satisfying to listen to. Best thing I have heard in ages!
