Not to be confused with a certain folk rock icon, this is a London-based R&B gospel singer. Dylan's one track debut single cites the tragic neglect and death of Baby Peter in 2007 as the song's inspiration with half of the monies raised from its release going to East London charity ELHAP to help build an adventure playground in Essex for disadvantaged kids or those with special needs. With Grammy Award-winning producer Cedric Thompson at the helm, the track is a slick affair that builds slowly towards a stirring climax and showcases Dylan's obvious vocal skills to a backdrop of all the trappings you would find on any contemporary R&B release. Dylan has previously shared the stage with gospel giants likes CeCe Winans and Kirk Franklin but chooses to keep any faith references generic to presumably appeal to as wide an audience as possible. Unfortunately, the lyrical content is far from original and is ridden with clichés that have appeared in countless other songs of a similar theme. Nonetheless, this is an enjoyable debut from an artist whose heart in the right place and who undoubtedly has lot to offer.
