Following a striking healing after being at death's door at the age of just two, Dorothy made the commitment to return the breath he gave her back so miraculously at that time by embarking on a singing ministry. The Florida-based singer particularly feels moved to minister to the poor and hurting in society, and has gone on various mission trips to Central America, as well as reaching out to those who don't go to church. This, her debut recording, consists of 10 self-penned songs that reflect on different aspects of the spiritual life. Some are songs of encouragement that God is in control and our lives fully in his hands; others invite the listener into a deeper relationship with him; while the final track, "Who Will?" challenges us to go beyond ourselves and make a difference in God's kingdom. These are in general, gentle, and certainly pleasant songs that have a genuinely inspirational impact. Unfortunately, some of this impact is diminished by a lack of emotional light and shade in Dorothy's voice; it's just a bit too monochrome through each song and with the material blurring together from one song to the next. This is a real pity and there's no doubt that Dorothy truly has a passion about what she's expressing. So it's a shame such passion is lacking in her vocal style.
