No doubt Nelson Word are pleased with themselves for persuading Poly Gram to let them distribute this 1994 album to the Christian bookstores. But considering Donna is, to my ears, one of the GREAT pop soul voices and producer Michael Omartian one of the GREAT production talents, this is a major let down. The choice of songs is chronically uninspired with both secular ("White Christmas", "The Christmas Song") and sacred ("O Come All Ye Faithful", "O Holy Night") numbers being chronically over recorded. The title song is quite pleasant but her version of "Breath Of Heaven" is ruined by a too lush orchestration. In fact, throughout the album the one-time disco diva hardly has a decent rhythm to sing across such is the dominance of the strings. An album only for saccharine Yuletide tastes.
