If you're a connoisseur of Northern Soul you'll recognise Don's name. Don's husky baritone sang a soulful storm on the Muscle Shoals floor-filler "Tear Stained Face". But that was then and this is now, as they say. Since '87 Don has been writing gospel and these seven songs show that Don's voice still retains plenty of gritty, soulful passion. Unfortunately these recordings have a nasty, cheap demo production with cheesy synths and drum box. The slow "Father I Love The Way You Love Me" shows a quality soul voice but unless Don gets a decent producer his glory days may be behind him.
