Funk metal a la Chilli Peppers from this Delaware-based four-piece. Dodavahu have been together since 1991 and played support to an impressive list of artists including Mortal, LSU and Circle Of Dust, but despite signing to REX in 1992 and having tracks included on several compilation albums this 1996 release is their first full length album. Incidentally, the name comes from 2 Chronicles and means "the love of God'. The cocktail of heavy alternative guitars, driving drums and funky slap bass gives Dodavahu a great sound, a sound that is all too rare in the Christian music subculture. The powerful, edgy vocals add a distinctive edge and the humorous lyrics carry a clear Christian message without being clichéd. "Kick Against It" is one of the outstanding tracks with its message of no compromise and "Nebuchadnezzar" was another favourite, closing the album in the band's unique style.
