This CD is an absolute delight, if, like me, you remember the amazing sounds that were created by Dion and his group The Belmonts in the years before The Beatles came along and changed the face of music forever. Although Mr DiMucci gave his life to the Lord in the 70s, this album doesn't have any Christian material - instead the mood is sheer nostalgia, with the music written from a 50s and 60s perspective and style, with plenty of driving beats, close harmony doowop and slow rock ballads. Thankfully absent is most of the teenage angst that pervaded lots of American pop music of the time, the mood is generally upbeat and cheerful, and the riffs and the harmonies, the beats and the grooves laid down by Dion and his pals are guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of any wrinkly who has fond memories of sharp Italian suits, winkle picker shoes and songs like "Runaround Sue" and "The Wanderer". The only thing I'm not sure about is the album title: if I remember my French, it means Already Naked! Did they mean to call it Deja Vu? No matter; I'm told that Ace will be re-issuing Dion's Warner Brothers albums soon - I can't wait!
