Reviewed by Trevor Kirk This album has been put together by a group of musicians in Brecon, Mid Wales, the songwriters being Diana Samuelson and Sue Robinson. Instruments are provided by Sue (piano) and Diana (synths), with John Eyre on guitars and bass. Alan Davies on cello, David Gooding on percussion, and Susan Pryce on flute. Diana and John provide vocals, and the mood is definitely on the meditational side of easy listening, apart from "Sing To The Lord", which is a bright slab of praise. There are several good pieces here struggling to get out; "He Who Dwells", Diana's setting of Psalm 91: "I Will Sing Your Praises", sung acappella by Diana; two short piano interludes by Sue inspired by Psalm 40, and "The Lord Loves You", a straightforward song of invitation, but overall the feel of the thing is very Fisherfolk, with little power in the voices, and not a lot of oomph in the instruments. Things would've probably been a lot better if everyone concerned could have let themselves go a bit and given the music a few teeth. As it stands it's nice but not exceptional.
