Knew from the cover art of this four track HP that I would have to add concrete reinforcement to my CD player before spinning this disc. Hmnmm. let's see...Finnish death metal, anyone? Okay, so there are huge chunks of heavy rifforama taking place here over which guitarist Miika Partala and bassist Manu Lehtinen growl and scream their vocal contributions. Speaker cabinets wobble in disconcerting fashion indicating that the four tracks here are a musical success. The passages of lyrical lead guitar work from Partala sets these songs apart adding some touches of melody amidst the dense noisescape. The bursts of guitar in the snappy "Tribal Eagle" are stunning. Lyrically, amongst Other things, the band deal with the impact of the cross ("Crosshope"), the bleakness of life ("Thinking"), with all the songs having a seed of hope in them. The closing "Blue Moment" is built on some solid drumming from Johnny Pesonen with yet another Partala riff and screamed vocals with the song yet again dissolving into melodic passages and a genuine surprise - a girly choir! Weird but effective. If you like rock heavy enough to vibrate the fillings from your mouth, enjoy!
