Explanations first. Deitiphobia are Wally Shaw and Brent Stackhouse who through a series of ground breaking albums have fused dance into punk/industrial to create their own unique thrilling brand of surreal dance rock. On this album the dynamic duo passed the masters from Blonde Vinyl albums 'Deitiphobia' (1991) and 'Digital Priests: The Remixes' (1992) over to Christian rock pioneer Michael Knott (whose Aunt Betty's Ford, pundits predict, are soon to become a major mainstream outfit). Mr Knott has so digitally spindled and folded the tracks that they have taken on a whole new dizzying character of their own. Fragments of sermons lock into jarring guitar samples, lolloping dance grooves spin off into mind boggling chunks of industrial noise. Lovers of the avant guarde have already heralded this album as one of the most inventive and arresting ever to gain release on a subculture label. Not always easy to listen to but seldom have the senses been so assaulted by any album.
