Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of seeing this artist live can only wonder at his sheer vocal prowess. However I feel that this release is a somewhat disjointed effort. It has a selection of live recordings such as "Blue Christmas", "Jesus, What A Wonderful Child", the classic and truly wonderful "O Holy Night", "O Little Town Of Bethlehem" and the very oddly out of place for a Christmas release, "Ave Maria". Then there are some lovely and very powerful studio Christmas medley recordings. Overall, however, the whole album left me somewhat dissatisfied and confused because of poor production, particularly on the live recordings. David is a great talent and this recording doesn't do him justice. Surely for an artist of such high quality, it would have been so much better to have sat him down with a top producer and come up with something of more consequence than this rather cheap jack effort.
