A native of Colorado, USA, David professes as his influences such worthies as Coldplay, U2 and Matt Redman, so one might expect this to be power pop praise with a dash of rock, which by and large is what it is. The six tracks check out at nearly 24 minutes, and there's plenty of contrasts: the first two tracks slam their message at several hundred decibels, with plenty of hot axe riffs, whilst the rest is more piano and/or acoustic guitar - I personally prefer the less strident material of tracks three to six, but that's probably just me getting old. Vocally, David does have a touch of the Matt Redmans about him, and whilst he has a ways to go to match the quality of Mr Redman (and Coldplay and U2 come to that), there's some promising sounds here that could be the start of something good.
