Electric country rock rules! I've always had a soft spot for country and worship journeyman Dave Clemo and now that serious health issues have largely curtailed his gigging he's wisely decided to put out all, or most, of the tracks recorded down the years in his home studio to Joe Public on a number of albums via iTunes. On this collection I like the raw boogie feel of "Here To There" and the gospel rockabilly "Truckstop" which sounds like a song that could almost have been recorded in 1957 rather than this 1998 version, while the killer line "I need forgiveness not another inquisition" on "Sinner" shows that the Kettering Cowboy can come up with lines as good as anything from far better known lyricists. Texan country man Jerry Arhelger co-wrote two of these songs with Clemo and with plenty of meaty electric riffs - and even some solos - one is left with a neat little artefact which demonstrates you don't need studio production sheen to make music that satisfies the soul. . . and gets the foot tapping.
