Putting aside all visions of a guy leading a gospel choir dressed in a waterproof overcoat, I investigated further and found that Daniel McElroy (no relation as far as I can tell to 1980s gospel diva Donna) is the director of a 17-voice choir who've clearly been listening to Kirk Franklin & The Family. Unfortunately, they ain't got the chops to get anywhere near the standard set by Kirk & Co. They make the right sort of noises, but it seems I've heard all this sort of thing before; clones of "Stomp" abound. When things simmer down a little, the slower numbers are a tad dull, so we listeners lose out both ways. It'll take a lot of creative thinking to devise the next quantum leap in gospel/R&B, land sadly Danny and his pals don't cut it. Go buy 'Revolution' instead.

I feel as though we need more of what Danny and the choir
ministered. There should be a difference between the church
and the world. This cd exemplifies
this messege
