Dan is a singer/songwriter from Exmouth, Devon, and has here put together two "classic" hymns and two of his own compositions for this 2017 EP. "Thine Be The Glory" comes with folk rock feel but has to fall over itself to fit some of the lyrics in. "Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing" fares much better with the backing vocals being the highlight of the EP. The self-written opener, "God Is Able" is a solid folk rock track and the closing "Agape" a full bore rock track and while both are reasonable songs calling them hymn-like would be pushing the definition of a hymn to its limits and beyond. As with Dan's previous releases, the recording and production quality are not high and Dan's vocals are very high in the mix. A shame really as this could be so much more.
