When someone writes The Complete History of The Alternative Worship Movement I hope they give a few pages to Different Kettle Of Fish aka dkf. For this bunch of gifted Midlands musicians really were early explorers of what can be achieved when punchy rock rhythms and inventively rhythmic arrangements are put to worship classics from the likes of Kendrick. Smale and Paris. The band, much loved at Christian festivals, actually broke up a couple of years back but reformed to play the Kingston Festival last year and this crisply produced cassette shows the band have lost none of their rhythmic immediacy. They also have in Debbie Mohabir an excellent vocalist. A far better praise album than many you'll find in the bookshops. Buy it.
