This is the debut MC release from Louisiana-based DJ Maj following his three well received mix tapes. Across the 14 tracks there are guest appearances aplenty, most notably from the likes of Tait, LA Symphony, KJ52 and TobyMac. Standout cuts are the uplifting "Love (So Beautiful)", the rock/rap hybrid 'Can't Take It Away' and the party vibes of "Up All Nite". Trademark scratches and turntable skills are all present and correct as Maj lays down infectious beats which compliment rather than overshadow some well written rhymes. This lyrical depth is captured most vividly on the solo jam "Ballin Chains" which deals with the topic of getting rid of sin in an honest and provoking way. Overall, this is an impressive release. An album to move your feet to as well as engage your brain, a real feel good release which captures the true essence of hip-hop.
