Dillon Jackson may have been unwise to use "DJ" as his nom-de-disc (try entering DJ into your computer's search engine and see what you get) but that's about the rapper/producer's only mistake. With a bevy of guests including Tyler Goens, Ben Jammin, Kurious and Harmony Hi-See (some of whose Cross Rhythms turntable hits DJ has produced) Dillon shows some dazzling studio invention as he and his fellow emcees regale against the snares and traps of today's youth culture and the victory one can find in the lover of our souls. "Psalm 24" with a sample that sounds like it was plucked from a string quartet record and a passionate rap from Braille is a great opener while "Enjoy The Sonshine" with its frequently repeated title is equally good. "Put Some Clothes On" daringly spells out the moral dangers of girls caught up in the party life. "I'm not saying that you gotta dress like Grandma," DJ declares, but boldly calls for some level of modesty. Equally good is Harmony Hi-See's telling the Enemy that "You Can't Have Me". A hugely impressive album.
