No, Cross Rhythms hasn't made a mistake about the price. This team of Scottish rockers who have impressed many at fests over the last couple of years are offering both of their tapes, 'Curam' cut a year ago featuring four songs, and their brand newie 'The Potato Curry' offering five, for £3.00 with postage thrown in. This is a great deal and if your tastes veer towards classic guitar rock with plenty of fret busting solos I trust you'll get your money off to Argyll. The extended axe solos are a little overdone for my taste but I applaud the musicianship. Calm Smith is an exceptional guitarist while John Cassie has a voice able to handle the full tilt rockers and the quieter passages. 'Curam' suffers from poor sound but the newie is much better. Standout for me is the fine "The Lords Of The Western Sea". News that the songs on 'The Potato Curry' were literally recorded in one take increases my admiration. Send for the tapes - there's a passion and integrity here which will stand Curam in good stead.
