Hailing from the state of Michigan, Crisi Dykstra is a singer/songwriter who brings an exciting release full of aggressive guitar-driven tunes. A former worship leader, Crisi takes the listener on a journey of highs and lows she experienced whilst in that position. The first track, entitled “Wonder Day”, is a fast and catchy tune inspired by her engagement. Her sometimes raspy rock voice comes out on many tunes including “I Still Have Peace”. This smooth and edgy track gives me a good impression of Crisi and band. ‘Woman You See’ is as good as anything else in Christian music featuring a leading lady. The sound is often edgier than Plumb, smoother than Jennifer Knapp, and I think Crisi has the ability and backing band to wow a crowd more than either of these other two. The song “Respect” delivers the overall theme of the album proclaiming, “Don’t take my respect/I’ll give it away/I’ll give it to you/Just give some to me.” The album has a great balance of acoustic and electric guitars as to never get tiring and old. My only complaint is that there isn’t enough variation in tempo to catch my attention song after song. That said, ‘Woman You See’ is a strong album, full of lyrical and musical depth. There is a lot of music in Crisi, and this independent album is just a lasting taste of more to come.

I have had the pleasure of listening to Crisi Live on a
couple of occasions. This CD captures all of the energy of a
live performance while giving you the ability to concentrate
and feel the music in your own environment. A very well put
together collection with a phenominal performer!
