Their 'Sing Noel', which missed our Christmas reviews issue (CR9), was their first solo album (if that's the right word for a choir album!). But hot on its heels comes this which, like its Yuletide compatriot, is an artful blend of some goose pimple inducing choral work and songs featuring lead singers and arrangements clearly aimed at America's CCM radio audience. Musically, it sometimes get close to the sound of a black gospel choir, though not as often as when CCC backed Carman on that huge live in concert album. More often, the vocal arrangements plump for something a bit closer to the Maranatha Singers. One of two excellent songs from writers as diverse as Richard Small wood, Jerome Olds and Bobbie Mason. If you enjoyed their work on 'Shakin' The House' you might want to buy this.
