"If I talk about God a lot, it's because I acknowledge him for all I got" is recognition straight from "Thankful" which opens this independently released EP from a soulful London-based songstress. Pointing heavenward for "all the things that he's done before," the song expresses God's faithfulness during this artist's walk to where she is now. The R&B tone of the opener steps up a gear as "Could It B" intertwines straight melody and hip-hop-styled vocals while the laid-back "Leave U Behind" is probably the most contemporary and easy listening of the five offerings. It's a time that most if not all artists go through, the crossroads as to what to do with their music and the battle of the mind that comes with perseverance. Chenoa gives a personal insight into her struggle through times when she feels like giving up but instead seeks help from above and gives all up! "Who Cryz" raises the stakes tackling the topics of gun crime and street violence assisted by a heavy beat as Chenoa enlists male vocal accompaniment. A current modern day epidemic is noticeably an issue close to her thoughts. The supporting music to all intents and purposes backs up the writing ably but at times yearns for some texture to give a cutting edge to enhance the grooves on offer.
