Charles was once the lead vocalist of CCM hitmakers NewSong but in more recent times has found success Stateside with Southern gospel-tinged balladry. So it is with some surprise that his first album for StowTown (home of such SG stalwarts as Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and The Perrys) should be aimed squarely at today's Christian pop scene with production heavy hitters Seth Mosley (TobyMac, Newsboys), Mike "X" O'Connor (For King & Country, Matthew West) and Keith Everette Smith (Karyn Williams) on board. There are plenty of good sounds here. The title track with an unplugged vibe is Billingsley at his most intimate while his duet with Meredith Andrews of the tuneful "See You Again" is one of several standouts. Even the veteran's revival of the Delirious? classic "Majesty" works well. Well-crafted worship-orientated pop from a singer who clearly still has much to offer the Church.
