This accessible, affordable (only £7.99) yet comprehensive resource ministers both to people with learning disabilities and those for whom English is not their first language. The pack contains two CDs, one containing the album and another providing backing tracks, music scores and acetate masters. For an area of ministry lacking quantity of resources, Causeway Prospects nevertheless provide the quality - if only more CDs on the general market were as well resourced as this! The music itself is excellent and varied. We have power chords (the opening track), reggae (track two), tender ballads (tracks four and five), '50s rock'n'roll and even the wonderfully-textured, dramatic Celtic flavour of track seven, not to mention the Taize-styled penultimate track. Thematically the CD is just as varied, with praise, exhortation to prayer and evangelism, affirmation, blessing, confession and Holy Spirit power. There is even a spirited Christmas song. Lyrics are well written with the target audience in mind; the language is simple but not simplistic, and like the music avoids patronising, so will surely work well with children also. Much good use is made of the simple device of repetition, especially call and response. If you are one who lives and works among those with special needs or you simply have a heart for such a ministry, buy this CD!
