Mark Hall is frontman and songwriter of the band Casting Crowns who have won numerous Dove Awards. I suspect the lyrics of this song, the memorable title track from the album (released on 9th November), will mean the Dove Award committee is unlikely to grant him one for this. Mark sings, "I don't want to leave a legacy/I don't care if they remember me/Only Jesus", and later, "All the kingdoms built, all the trophies won/Will crumble into dust when it's said and done/'Cause all that really matters/Did I live the truth to the ones I love?/Was my life the proof that there is only one whose name will last forever. . ./Only Jesus." A brilliant mid-tempo song, powerfully sung and expertly produced.
