Haven't heard of Carriers Of The Cross? This group of young men has been causing a stir in the US for a while now and has even been stretching into secular circles on the East Coast of the States. Their hard hitting and always challenging lyrics have been compared to the highly established Cross Movement, one of the most popular Christian hip hop groups to date. Personally however, I do not feel that their debut album has got what it takes. Although the well produced beats and rhythms kept my head nodding, the lyrics failed to grab me or greatly inspire me in any way. Most of the tracks display similar lyrical content and apart from "It's On Tonight" follow similar rhyming patterns and predictability. If you are just getting into Christian hip hop, then give this a try. For the more experienced out there, I would stick to what you know!
