When something new from Carman comes my way, there is a real sense of anticipation, since his past output has been refreshingly unpredictable and often challenging. But wait, this, like 'Sundays On The Way', is a nifty re-issue to cash in on the evangelical interest in all things Carman. 'Some-O-Dat' dates from 1982 and shows Carman's preference for strong, overt Christian themes and lyrics. It's mainly a collection of uninspiring country tinged songs. The pick of this bunch is undoubtedly the title track, but you sometimes get the impression he wrote the entire set in his lunch hour. Only for die-hard country fans this one.
