Everything you'd expect from a Carman album, while the opening track "God Is Exalted" is even an out-and-out dance tune (though the long 'on a plane' spoken intro might put off some sanctified dance DJs). There's much to delight, the funky rap of the title track, the slow mammoth-lengthed black gospel "Whiter Than Snow", the rockabilly shuffle "Step Of Faith", the atmospheric "No Monsters" that sounds like it could have fitted on one of his 'Yo! Kidz' albums and the climactic finale, a dramatic re-assembly of the old "Amen" spiritual. Carman's extraordinary ecclectism may put off some, while his in-your-face spiritual proclamations won't please everyone. But with superlative production from Brown Bannister I found 'R.I.O.T.' a brilliant example of a unique CCM talent.
