With more and more fellowships taking the bold step to record and release albums to add to the tidal waves of modern worship the record companies are still releasing, it takes a very special batch of songs/recordings to stand out from the crowd. Sadly, this EP from the Welsh church's worship team isn't one of them. Having said that, the musical competence here is clearly evident. Whether performing an Americana-tinged title track, complete with a banjo-driven rhythm, or the more pop "Our Hearts Respond" featuring some tasty piano from producer Stian Vedoy, the musicians play very well. But somehow the five songs (two featuring Joni Everson's huskily expressive vocals) simply fail to stand out from the thousands of others we've heard that remind us that in Christ we are free indeed, that we should bow before the King and God is awesome in power. There is an attractive sleeve apparently executed by backing singer Abi Newbould during the sessions as an act of worship. But in truth, the songs here are average.
