Calvin, originally from Chicago, has been in the gospel singing business for more than 30 years and it really shows on this 2013 album. The laidback opener "Celebration" with its full gospel choir moves almost seamlessly into the smooth title track before the album's curve ball arrives. "Don't Believe It" appears twice with a radio edit and the EP version included at the end, and is an upbeat romp with more than a passing nod to Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines", looking at sin and the fall. While most of the rest of the album is smooth gospel, there is some great gospel preaching in "Great Things" looking at prayer, and an upbeat dance track "If It Had Not Been". A well written and produced gospel album from the veteran talent.
