Caleb, from Boston, USA, describes his style of hip-hop as 'OAK (one of a kind) Music'. On his crowd-funding page he states, "It's all about living out your story in such a way that it becomes personal, relatable and undeniable to those who encounter it." Listening to the 17-tracks (totalling one hour 15 minutes) on 'The Oak Season 3', one can indeed acknowledge that Caleb offers something a little different from the tidal wave of Christian hip-hop artists now releasing singles and albums. The extremely powerful "Blind Spots" is a challenge to those wanting to work on their status while missing their "blind spots", while "Koren" is a direct no holding back reflection on the challenges of life, the focus being on a lady (Koren) battling cancer. Amongst some of the tracks on this set are spoken interludes such as "Find Your Flow", which, personally, I found difficult to follow, but this should not distract from a collection which is mostly a bold, honest and potentially life-changing listen.
