'What?' thought this CC fan. 'Another compilation and they've only put out two CDs since the last one?' But this one is different from 2004's 'Chronicles'. That was full of live and re-recorded versions; this is more like an orthodox 'Greatest Hits'. There are only 12 tracks, so there would have been plenty of space to expand on the 42 minutes you get here. Inevitably a fan misses the omission of favourite tracks and two decent albums ('Back Home' and 'Long Line Of Leavers') aren't represented at all. But of the included tracks there isn't a duffer. So there are plenty of originals, along with their storming cover of Rich Mullins's "Hope To Carry On" and their (definitive?) version of "God Of Wonders". If you want an excellent introduction to multi-lead-vocalled roots rock with added Hammond B3 fills, look no further.
