Albuquerque-based singer/songwriter Bud Morris returns with a 10 track album containing a mixture of studio and recordings made by Bob himself. This opens the way for a wide variety of styles which make this an intriguing album. The CD opens with an instrumental piece called, surprisingly, "Instrumental Worship" which introduces Bud's substantial (although sometimes shaky) guitar playing which, at its best moments, had the same flavour as Phil Keaggy's instrumental catalogue. Track two, ''Hallelujah The King Is Born", introduces Bob's singing which I can best describe as a cross between Bob Dylan and Barry McGuire, offset by the backing vocals of Liz Lovato. The self-penned songwriting quality does vary quite dramatically. "God's Children" is frankly too long and drawn out causing you to lose interest while "God's Timing" in contrast captures your attention with its lively mix of guitar and spoken words. However, the song "I Get You" gets today's cringe award with the lyrics, "I been asked to do, get it or get this, get that/Lord you are my God, you're where it's at!" A rudimentary sleeve doesn't help either.
