Brunton used to be known as Rapture and hail from West Sussex. They lead worship at Lancing Tabernacle and have in the past produced several self-financed EPs. We've got five tracks here that have clearly been laid down with tight time and/or financial constraints. Steve Brunton is the singer/songwriter and the disc opens with "Son Of Man" that has an understated funk feel and is the strongest tune of the lot. From here we go through mid-tempo guitar arrangements with a nice violin in track three "Draw Near" but you're never far away from the thought that these are demo recordings. It's a truism that everyone has to start somewhere and overall an encouraging sign of what may be to come.
