A third album from American rock band Broomtree who hail from Columbus, Ohio. And it's a cracker. Fronted by guitarist, songwriter and lead singer Kylie Schilg, the band present refreshingly melodic alternative rock with positive messages, plenty of hooks and a raw sound. Definitely guitar oriented with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the band's tight sound and skills, 'Maybe This Time' is well worth checking out because this kind of rock'n'roll never goes out of fashion as the band marry classic American rock with an alternative edge to a timeless message. There are loads of outstanding songs here from the upbeat opener 'This Thought", which sees the band immediately grabbing your attention and then never letting go from its vice-like grip! The haunting strings that accompany the excellent "Find Me" only add to the overall atmosphere of the song. The band aren't afraid to rock out either! The closing "By My Side" is amazing and on the title cut there's plenty of guitar noise added into the mix and Kylie's sharp vocal takes your breath away. If 2001 is the year of rock, 'Maybe This Time' is worth checking out
