Throughout the country there are literally thousands of church worship groups doing an absolutely wonderful job of leading the UK Church forward in worship by writing songs for use in their local settings. Bridging The Gap is a group of musicians and singers from Napton and Stockton which are part of the Bridges group of parishes in Warwickshire. Their leader is singer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Bisiker who with his wife Vikki wrote all the 13 songs here. In truth, though these songs are used by God and bless the local church they do not translate quite so well into a wider audience. Although quite well written and performed, the arrangements and production tend to make it difficult for the impartial listener to appreciate them - the arrangements are busy, there are rather too many harmony vocals and lead lines for comfort, and the overall feel is decidedly dated. 'We Will Sing Your Praises' would not have sounded out of place if it had been released in the '80s. On the arrangement front, all the individual instruments are okay in themselves but their blend leaves the music sounding slightly disjointed.
