Recorded live in Brian Doerksen's hometown of Abbotsford in British Columbia, this is a spectacular example of live worship. Based on the wall building theme of Nehemiah 4, this is an illustration of not only the different arts glorifying God but also of diverse people coming together regardless of denomination. For the most part, Doerksen leads worship with an extremely accomplished band and, although he could never hold claim to the strongest of voices, his delivery of both the songs and the introductions point straight to God. Doerksen and his musicians are complemented by a large voice chorus, a children's choir and an orchestra together with ongoing dance, banners, multimedia and drama which includes the physical building of a wall during the event to keep the focus on the theme. In addition to the concert, 'Today' utilises the special features option to maximum effect giving us enlightening concert and family documentaries, interviews with Doerksen himself, band member profiles and even a drumcam for the drum enthusiast! Over and above this array of footage and information, the theme constantly stays centred on the goal of lifting high the name of Jesus and this DVD will minister to many people.
