I'm still not absolutely convinced that the fresh-faced Mr Becker isn't a Michael W. Smith clone being heavily pushed by Bensons. But whatever its deficiencies in the originality stakes, these are nicely crafted pop and AOR songs with lyrics openly based on Scripture (each lyric on the CD booklet totes a Bible passage) with some hot playing (loved the bassman Jackie Street) and keyboards man/engineer keeps a crisp and contempo­rary sound throughout. Our American cousins do this kind of stuff so well don't they?
