Bill Drake is the international music minister for Operation Mobilisation. He is also an American. Bill's previous albums had an American feel, however with 'Crimson Thread Of Grace' Bill has broken the mould. Whilst there are naturally traces of his roots Bill has produced with help from producer Andy Harsant a largely "British" sounding album. So what does this mean? A slightly "raw" sound that really complements lyrics. Take a listen to "Redeem All Things" or "I Can Do All Things" and you hear the lyrics brought to the fore by the music. There is also immediacy to the instrumental breaks, they sound as though the musicians are really involved rather than over rehearsed spontaneity. The biggest complement that I can pay this album is that it involves the listener in a way that so many of this genre don't. I found that many of the songs seemed to naturally translate from a listening experience to an involving experience. I do hope that much of this album finds its way into the next round of worship books.
