Bill Drake is described as "an International Music Minister with Operation Mobilization". As such, he sometimes acts as musical sidekick to George Verwer (a man with more energy than Powergen) and often works alone. Indeed, his ministry with OM has taken him all over the UK as well as Europe and his native North America. He claims to have written over 350 songs (Kendrick-beware!) and here presents his sixth album. It's solid AOR, very well played and produced, if a little predictable. Lots of power chords and big choruses all awash with straining harmonies but, frankly, nothing that got me on the edge of my seat. If I could be so bold as to recommend anything, I'd suggest less arrangement, less intensity. There may be some good songs in here, but they get a bit buried under all the effort. Bill certainly has a gift with his lyrics and I'm told he has a powerful ministry when faced with an audience but I can't help feeling that the studio work needs a slight re-think.
