If you ever heard her 1967 Christmas album, you will get a glimpse of her vocals for gospel music. So here is 30 years later, released in November of 1997.
I was familiar with a few tunes on this cd that took some searching prior to purchase. Barbara sings with feeling, a lot of it! When she sings Geron Davis'
"On Holy Ground" it is amazing; which is quite a church standard. Quite a swell recording of cd title
"Higher Ground". Of course the top tune is the duet with Celine Dion, "Tell Him"; this is the kind of stuff that Barbra & Celine are top notch at singing!
Even in her mid 50's, Barbra can still belt out lyrics as she did in the 60's era. Barbara has kind'a taken the
Amy Grant approach for this cd of works, that contains
gospel and pop oriented songs. GOD Bless! - Don
