Produced by Cheryl Rogers, who incidentally forms part of Babbie Mason's vocal group, this album is not short of slickness but does fail to move out into the fast lane of black gospel. This is skilful middle-of-the-road music that safely caters for a variety of tastes without actually satisfying any one. Sentimentality is the number one ingredient. Babbie Mason co-writes the majority of tracks, and Cheryl Rogers (again) features high in the credits here. There's some lounge-bar jazziness in the track "Turn Right" co-written with Turner Lawson. Babbie's mobile voice together with a tight horn section and equally professional backing singers hit some interesting harmonies. The rather more funky "God Is Great" seems to suit her voice, and she and her band sound like they may be in danger of actually enjoying themselves. It doesn't last.
