This album kind of crept out on Kingsway Music last year but it would be a shame if you missed it. Assiria is a Brazil-based worship leader and some of the proceeds from this album will be going to help the Ray Of Hope ministry which is doing sterling work in helping children living beside the Amazon River get an education. This album was produced in Nashville by the always reliable John Hartley and features excellent renditions of a set of well known worship songs (Matt Redman's "Blessed Be Your Name", Brenton Brown's "Everlasting God", Noel Richard's "All Heaven Declares", Stuart Townend's "In Christ Alone" and Tim Hughes' "Here I Am To Worship"). Unfortunately the over-familiarity of the material will stop too many UK purchasers from investigating, which is a shame in view of the worthy cause this project is supporting. The bonus CD featuring the tracks sung in Portuguese is intriguing, while the best track on the English language version is "Send The Rain" where Assiria is joined by American worship leader Chris McClarney and the Amazon River Kids.

Worth every penny for “Send the Rain” alone. We listen
to the Portuguese version (Novo Tempo) – even though we
don’t understand a word. But we do understand anointing
and Novo Tempo has it in bucket loads. Play this in the
background and before you know it you’ll be spending a lot
more carpet time. The rain will come!
